Some sites you use every day, on many desks: a project tracker, a team inbox, an admin page. Pin a site like that to **Connected Apps** and it behaves like an app. Every Browser widget for it shares the same sign-in, so you sign in once and it is ready on any desk you drag it onto. PlexiDesk keeps the sign-in between launches, for as long as the site itself keeps you signed in.

## Before you start

- **Plans.** Pin to Apps and connected apps are part of every plan.
- **You need a Browser widget showing the site.** See [Browser widget](https://plexiidesk.com/help/widget-browser).
- **For automatic sign-in only:** a Vault with your login saved in it, unlocked. See [Store passwords in the Vault](https://plexiidesk.com/help).

## Pin a site to Connected Apps

1. Add a Browser widget to a desk and open the site you want. See [Add a Browser widget](https://plexiidesk.com/help/widget-browser#add-a-browser-widget).
2. Click **pin to apps** at the top right of the page. Or right-click the widget's title bar and choose **Pin to Apps**.
3. Sign in to the site in that widget.

The chip shows **pinning…** for a moment, then the name of the new connected app in place of **pin to apps**. The app is named after the page's title, or after the site's address if the page has no title. If you already have a connected app for that site, the widget joins it rather than making a second one.

> **Tip:**
> Pin the site before you sign in. A connected app keeps its own sign-in, separate from ordinary Browser widgets, so if you signed in before pinning, the site may ask you to sign in once more the next time the widget loads.

## Use it on any desk

While a desk is open, your connected apps are listed in the side menu under **Connected Apps**.

1. Open the desk where you want the site.
2. Drag the app from **Connected Apps** in the side menu onto the desk.

It opens as a Browser widget, already signed in, and its chip shows the app's name. Drag it onto as many desks as you like: every widget for the app shares the same sign-in.

You can also click the app in the side menu to open it on its own, filling the window. Its toolbar has **Back**, **Forward**, **Reload**, **Open in system browser**, the key button for auto-fill and **Remove this app**.

**Connected Apps** appears in the side menu only while a desk is open, because its rows are there to be dragged onto a desk. To add, pin or remove apps with no desk open, use **Settings > Advanced > Connected apps**, described below.

## Let the Vault fill in your login

If you keep the site's login in the Vault, PlexiDesk can fill it in for you.

1. Click the app under **Connected Apps** in the side menu to open it.
2. Click the key button in its toolbar, **Bind vault credentials for auto-fill**. The **Auto-fill** panel opens.
3. If the Vault is locked, the panel says so. Unlock the Vault, then come back.
4. Click the saved login you want to use. Or click **Save new credentials**, enter the username or email and the password, and click **save + bind**.

From then on, while the Vault is unlocked, PlexiDesk fills in that login when the site's page loads, in the app and in every Browser widget for it. It only fills it in on that app's own site. The key button is highlighted while a login is bound.

To pause it, open the **Auto-fill** panel again and click **enabled** at the top so it reads **disabled**. To remove the login from the app, click **Unlink** beside it. See [Auto-fill a connected app from the Vault](https://plexiidesk.com/help).

The Vault is in **Settings > Data**.

## Manage your connected apps

- **Keep an app near the top.** In the side menu, point at an app and click its pin, **Pin to Favourites**. Pinned apps, and the ones you use most, are listed first. The rest sit under **More apps**.
- **Remove an app.** Open it from the side menu, click **Remove this app** and confirm with **Remove**. It disappears from Connected Apps, and you can add it again any time.

In **Settings > Advanced > Connected apps** you can manage every connected app, even with no desk open: click **+** to add one, the pin beside an app to pin it to the side menu, or the bin to remove it. See [Add and use connected apps](https://plexiidesk.com/help).

> **Note:**
> Ordinary Browser widgets, the ones you have not pinned, share one sign-in with each other and with PlexiDesk's full-screen browser. Sign in to a site in any of them and you are signed in to it in all of them.

## Common questions

### Will I stay signed in after I quit PlexiDesk?

Yes. A connected app keeps its sign-in between launches, for as long as the site keeps you signed in. Some sites sign you out after a while; when that happens, sign in again in any widget for the app.

### Does pinning change the page I am on?

No. The widget stays on the same page. Only the chip changes.

### Can I add a connected app without opening a Browser widget first?

Yes. Click **+** beside **Connected Apps** in the side menu, **Add a connected app**. See [Add and use connected apps](https://plexiidesk.com/help).
