A good conversation with Plexii often ends with a plan: the pieces of a project, a list to track, a few documents to write. **Turn into desk** turns that plan into a real desk. Plexii proposes the desk itself and the widgets that bring the conversation to life, as cards you approve. Once the desk exists, the same button becomes **Push to desk**, which adds whatever the conversation has produced since.

## Before you start

- **Every plan** includes Turn into desk and Push to desk.
- **Plexii needs AI to run.** See [AI credits and where your AI runs](https://plexiidesk.com/help/ai-credits).
- **Picking up the desk's conversation automatically** when you open Plexii on the desk is part of Plexii's memory, included in the Pro and Team plans. See [What Plexii remembers about you](https://plexiidesk.com/help/plexii-memory).

## Turn a conversation into a desk

1. Have a conversation with Plexii about the work, in the panel or on the Plexii hub.
2. In the row of controls under the box you type in, click **Turn into desk**. Its tooltip reads **Turn into desk — Plexii proposes the desk and its widgets as cards you approve**. The button appears once the conversation has at least one message.
3. Plexii replies with cards: **New desk** for the desk itself, and cards for what goes on it, such as **Add table**, **Add todo list**, **Add page** or **Set up agent**.
4. Review the cards and dismiss any you do not want. See [Review and apply Plexii's changes](https://plexiidesk.com/help/plexii-proposals).
5. Click the **New desk** card first. The desk is created and the card turns green.
6. Click **Go to** on the green card to open the new desk. If the Plexii panel is closed when you get there, click the Plexii button: your conversation is still there.
7. Now apply the widget cards, one by one or with **Apply all**. They go on the desk you are on, which is the new desk.

> **Tip:**
> Widget cards go on the desk you are on, unless Plexii named a different one. If you apply them while you are on another desk, that is where they land. On the Plexii hub, once the **New desk** card is applied, the widget cards go to the new desk without you leaving the hub. If they ever have nowhere to go, PlexiDesk asks, and you can pick the new desk from **Or another desk**.

## The linked desk

Once you apply a **New desk** card in a conversation, the conversation and the desk are linked:

- **A chip at the top of the conversation** shows the desk's name. Click it to open the desk. Its tooltip reads **Open the linked desk —** and the desk's name.
- **The button under the box changes to Push to desk.**
- **Plexii works with that desk** even when you are on the hub, so it can see what is already on the desk and new cards land there.

If a conversation has produced more than one desk, the chip shows the main one with a count of the others, such as **+1**.

If the linked desk is deleted, the chip reads **Desk removed** and no longer opens anything.

## Push what's new to the desk

As the conversation goes on, you may decide on more: another table, a new document, a few more tasks.

1. Click **Push to desk** under the box. Its tooltip reads **Push to desk — Plexii proposes what is new from this conversation as cards you approve**.
2. Plexii looks at what is already on the desk and proposes cards only for what is not there yet.
3. Apply the ones you want.

### Choose which desk to push to

When a conversation has created more than one desk, a small arrow sits beside **Push to desk** (**Choose which linked desk pushes target**). Click it and pick a desk. A tick marks the desk that pushes go to, and that desk becomes the one shown in the chip.

## Pick up where you left off

Later, open Plexii while you are on a linked desk and Plexii opens the conversation that built it, so you can carry on. See [Find, reopen and manage conversations](https://plexiidesk.com/help/plexii-conversations).

## Tips

- **Explore first, then build.** Talk the idea through, or use Discovery mode, before you click **Turn into desk**. The more the conversation covers, the more complete the desk. See [Explore an idea with Discovery mode](https://plexiidesk.com/help/plexii-discovery-mode).
- **Untick what you don't need.** Turn into desk often proposes several widgets. Once you are on the new desk, tick only the ones you want and click **Apply selected**.

## Common questions

**I can't see Turn into desk.** It appears once the conversation has a message in it. On a new, empty conversation, send something first.

**The button says Push to desk instead.** The conversation already created a desk. Push to desk adds new things to it. To build a separate desk, start a new chat.

**Plexii asked where to put the cards.** You applied widget cards while you were not on a desk, for example on the Plexii hub. Pick the new desk under **Or another desk**, or apply the **New desk** card first, open the desk with **Go to**, and apply the rest there. See [Choose where a change goes](https://plexiidesk.com/help/plexii-proposals#choose-where-a-change-goes).

**Does Turn into desk create anything by itself?** No. It asks Plexii to propose the desk. Nothing is created until you apply the cards, unless your autonomy setting applies low-risk cards for you. See [Assistant autonomy](https://plexiidesk.com/help/settings-assistant-autonomy).
