> After an interruption, click What was I doing? in Plexii's header for a short summary of your last 30 minutes and where you left off.

You were in the middle of something, a call came in, and now you cannot remember where you were. **What was I doing?** reads back what you did in PlexiDesk over the last 30 minutes and writes it up as a short paragraph in the conversation, naming the desks, documents and pages involved and ending with where you left off.

## Before you start

- **Every plan** includes What was I doing?.
- **It uses your own Anthropic key,** even when you are signed in and the rest of Plexii runs on your credits. Add the key in **Settings** > **AI**, under **AI · API keys**. See [Add your own API keys](https://plexiidesk.com/help/api-keys).

## Catch up

1. Open Plexii with the Plexii button at the bottom right of the screen, or open the Plexii hub.
2. In the header, click **What was I doing?** (the replay arrow). Its tooltip reads **What was I doing? — replay the last 30 minutes as a narrative**.
3. While Plexii reads your recent activity, the button shows an hourglass and its tooltip reads **Reading the trail…**.

If the panel was showing another tab, such as **Calendar**, it switches back to the conversation so you can see the summary.

## What you will see

The summary arrives as a message from Plexii in the conversation you are in. It starts with a short note of how much it looked at, for example _(from 24 events in the last 30 min)_, followed by a paragraph of three to five sentences. It leads with the most important thread and ends with where you left off.

If you are working on a desk, the summary covers that desk. Otherwise it covers your activity across the organisation you are working in.

## What it looks at

Plexii builds the summary from the activity PlexiDesk records as you work, including:

- switching between desks
- adding widgets
- editing notes
- the web pages you visit in a Browser widget on a desk
- messages you send to Plexii
- focus sessions starting and ending

What you do inside a web page, such as clicks and typing, is not part of the record.

## Tips

- **Use it straight after an interruption.** It looks back 30 minutes, so it is most useful when you come back quickly.
- **Open the desk first.** On a desk, the summary sticks to that desk's work rather than everything you touched.
- **Then ask a follow-up.** The summary is part of the conversation, so you can ask Plexii what to do next.

## Common questions

**It asks for an Anthropic API key.** What was I doing? always uses your own key. The message reads **Open Settings → AI · API keys and paste your Anthropic API key to use "What was I doing?".** See [Add your own API keys](https://plexiidesk.com/help/api-keys).

**It says there is no recorded activity.** Nothing was recorded in the last 30 minutes for the place you are in. You may have just opened PlexiDesk, been away, or been working inside a web page.

**It summarised the wrong desk.** The summary covers the desk you are working on. Open the desk you want, then click **What was I doing?** again.

**Where is the button on the hub?** In the hub's header at the top, beside **New chat**. See [Use the Plexii hub](https://plexiidesk.com/help/plexii-hub).
