Desk template · University and college students writing an assessed essay.

Essay planning desk: the question, the readings and the word counts in one view

the question sits on a Card at the top, each section of the Page has a word target in a Field beside it, and every quote goes into a Table with its page number the moment you read it — so the draft is planned against the brief, not the night before. Distinct from essay research (the method) and university students (the campaign page): this is the desk set-up.

Suggested widgets: card · page · field · table · webview · file · timer

What goes on the desk

Set it up

create the desk with a due date and a Duration (desk create), or start from the Writing starter (a Draft page with Outline and Ideas / cuts stickies, desk templates).

  1. Create a desk named for the real outcome, client or deadline.
  2. Add the suggested widgets and rename each one for the job it performs.
  3. Bring in the existing files or tables before inventing another copy of the information.
  4. Set a due date, add the first visible next action, then save the arrangement as a template if you will repeat it.

Use it day to day

one sprint per section; tick sections off.

A useful desk should reduce copying. Keep each changing fact in one widget, and let charts, summaries or views read from that source.

A worked starting point

Fictional example. Create the desk, add three real items that are already in motion, then use one full work cycle before changing the layout. At the end, remove anything you did not consult and add only the object that would have prevented a real interruption.

Where Plexii helps

Plexii finds the quote and page number and cites the reading; it never writes the essay (university students); AI Assist summarises a passage you select on a page in the Browser widget (widget ai assist).

Keep in mind. never imply AI writes assessed work.
