Unit plan desk for teachers: lessons, resources and results together

the unit plan is shaped by last term’s results — a results Table and Chart sit beside the plan, each lesson is a row with its objective, activity and resources, and the lesson decks live on the same desk. Distinct from revision-timetable (the student’s side).

Suggested widgets: doc · table · chart · slides · task list · drive

What goes on the desk

  • Document ‘Unit plan’ (widget document)
  • Table ‘Lessons’ (Lesson (number), Objective, Activity, Resources, Date) with Calendar view (table views)
  • Table ‘Class results by topic’ with a Chart (widget chart)
  • Slides for lesson decks, importing .pptx (widget slides)
  • Tasks ‘Before Monday’ (book the lab, print sheets, email parents) (widget tasks)
  • Drive (folder) for worksheets (widget drive).

Set it up

one desk per unit; open the department’s unit template .docx in the Document widget; import results from a CSV (widget table import).

  1. Create a desk named for the real outcome, client or deadline.
  2. Add the suggested widgets and rename each one for the job it performs.
  3. Bring in the existing files or tables before inventing another copy of the information.
  4. Set a due date, add the first visible next action, then save the arrangement as a template if you will repeat it.

Use it day to day

tick lessons off, note what to change, and save the desk as a template for next year (desk templates).

A useful desk should reduce copying. Keep each changing fact in one widget, and let charts, summaries or views read from that source.

A worked starting point

Fictional example. Create the desk, add three real items that are already in motion, then use one full work cycle before changing the layout. At the end, remove anything you did not consult and add only the object that would have prevented a real interruption.

Where Plexii helps

the Document’s Draft with AI writes a section you review before inserting (widget document); Slides has its own AI (widget slides); Build a table with AI drafts lesson rows for review (widget table ai).

Keep in mind. example class data clearly fictional; no advice on handling student data.
