Discover widget

Start a guided conversation with Plexii from Home that grows an idea into a desk, with nothing created until you say yes.

All plansUpdated

The Discover widget is a small square button on your Home dashboard that starts a guided conversation with Plexii, your assistant. Bring anything: a question, a rough idea, a list or a whole business plan. In this kind of conversation Plexii leads. It asks questions about your idea and helps it take shape, and when the picture is clear it offers to build a desk for it.

Nothing is created until you say yes, so you can explore freely.

Before you start

  • The widget is available on every plan.
  • Plexii needs AI to be set up. Sign in to use PlexiDesk credits, or add your own Anthropic key. See AI credits and where your AI runs Coming soon.
  • You can add it to Home, Office Home, People Home or Brain Home, once on each.
  • It has one size, Icon. Four icon-size widgets fit in the space of one Small widget.

Add the widget to your dashboard

  1. Open your Home dashboard and click Customize at the top right.
  2. Click Add widget.
  3. Click Actions, or type "discover" in Search widgets.
  4. Click Discover. The preview shows the icon.
  5. Click Add widget, drag the icon to where you want it, then click Done.

Explore an idea and turn it into a desk

  1. Click Discover on your dashboard. The Plexii hub opens on a new conversation. It asks What are we building?, and a Discovery badge shows that Plexii is leading.
  2. Type your idea in your own words and send it. A sentence or two is plenty to start.
  3. Answer Plexii's questions. It often offers likely answers you can click, and you can always type your own instead.
  4. When Plexii has enough to go on, it asks whether you want it to create the desk. Say yes, or click Create the desk if it offers that option. If you are not ready, say so and keep talking.
  5. Plexii proposes the desk and the widgets to fill it as cards. Check them, then apply them to build the desk. See Review and apply Plexii's changes Coming soon.

What is different about Discovery

  • Plexii leads. In an ordinary chat you ask and Plexii answers. In Discovery, Plexii asks the questions and steers the idea towards a desk.
  • Nothing is built early. Until you ask Plexii to build, or accept its offer, it does not add desks, widgets, tables or documents. If it tries, it holds the change and tells you.
  • It stays with the conversation. A conversation started from Discover stays in Discovery mode. To switch it back to an ordinary chat, click the mode button with the composer, which reads Discovery, and choose Chat.

For more, see Explore an idea with Discovery mode Coming soon.

Remove the widget

  1. Click Customize at the top of the dashboard.
  2. Click the × at the top-right corner of the Discover icon.
  3. Click Done.

The icon has no size button, because it comes in one size only.

Good ways to use it

  • A project you have not shaped yet. "I want to plan a garden makeover" is enough to begin.
  • Research. Describe what you want to find out, and let Plexii suggest how to organise it on a desk.
  • Turning a list into a plan. Paste the list and ask Plexii to help make sense of it.

Common questions

Does clicking Discover create anything?

No. It opens a new, empty conversation. Nothing is added to your workspace until you approve the cards Plexii proposes.

Can I come back to the conversation later?

Yes. Once you send your first message, the conversation is saved with your other Plexii conversations. See Find, reopen and manage conversations.

Can I start Discovery without the widget?

Yes. In a Plexii conversation, click the mode button with the composer and choose Discovery. See Explore an idea with Discovery mode Coming soon.

Plexii asks me to sign in or add a key

AI is not set up yet. Sign in to PlexiDesk to use credits, or add your own Anthropic key. See AI credits and where your AI runs Coming soon and Add your own API keys.

Nothing happens when I click the icon

While you are customising the dashboard, widgets do not respond to clicks. Click Done first.
