Overdue radar widget
See the Attention items that are past their due date on your dashboard, oldest first, and close, snooze or open each one without leaving it.
The Overdue radar shows the items in Attention that have gone past their due date, the one that has waited longest first. When nothing is late, it says Nothing overdue. Empty is the goal. Put it on your dashboard if you want late work in front of you every time you open Home.
Before you start
- Plans. The Overdue radar is on every plan.
- What it lists. It reads your items in Attention: to-dos, reviews, replies and the other things you or Plexii have captured there. See Attention: everything that needs you Coming soon.
- When an item is overdue. An item counts as overdue as soon as its due time has passed, not at the end of the day. A due date you set in an item's Edit item window is due at 5 pm that day.
- Where it goes. You can add it to Home, Office Home, People Home or Brain Home, once on each.
Add the Overdue radar to a dashboard
- Open the dashboard. For Home, click Home in the side menu.
- Click Customize at the top right.
- Click Add widget. The Widgets window opens.
- Click Live, or type "overdue" in Search widgets.
- Click Overdue radar. A live preview of the widget appears.
- Use the arrows beside the preview to choose a size: Small or Medium.
- Click Add widget. The radar appears at the end of your dashboard, briefly highlighted.
- Drag it to where you want it, then click Done.
If the card in the Widgets window says Already on your home, this dashboard already has an Overdue radar.
Set up with Plexii, at the top of each dashboard, can also place the radar for you, for example when you mention deadlines in your answers. See Set up your dashboard with Plexii.
What the radar shows
- The title bar says Overdue radar, with the number of overdue items on the right. That number counts every overdue item, even those not shown in the list.
- The list shows up to three items, the one that has been overdue longest first. Medium makes the tile wider, so longer titles fit, and still shows three.
- Each row has a circle to close the item, the item's title, its due date in red and a small coloured dot for its status. Point at the dot to see the status.
The radar keeps itself up to date. When you close an item, archive it or give it a later due date, it leaves the radar.
Deal with an item from the radar
You can work through an overdue item without leaving the dashboard.
- Close it. Click the circle at the left of the row. The circle closes the item the way its Attention queue does, for example Done for a to-do or Reviewed for a review. Point at the circle to see which.
- See the details. Click the item's title. The row opens in place and shows the item's notes, why it is in Attention, its priority, its due date (marked overdue), and the desk, plan, tags and people it is linked to. Click the title again to fold it away.
- Open the full item. Double-click the row. The Edit item window opens over your dashboard. Change the title, notes, due date, desk or urgency, then click Save.
When a row is open, a row of buttons appears under the details. Point at a button to see its name.
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Source | Opens where the item came from, such as the web page, the message or the moment in a meeting. It appears only when the item has a source. |
| Desk | Opens the desk the item came from. It appears only when the item belongs to a desk. |
| Start with Plexii | Opens the item's desk, if it has one, and the Plexii panel with a message about the item ready in the box. Edit it if you like, then send it. |
| Snooze | Snoozes the item until 9 am tomorrow. |
| Archive | Keeps the item, out of the way. It leaves the radar. |
| Open the item | Opens the Edit item window, the same as double-clicking the row. |
| Attention | Opens the Attention page. |
Start with Plexii sends your message to Plexii, which uses AI: PlexiDesk credits while you are signed in, or your own Anthropic key. See AI credits and where your AI runs Coming soon.
See every overdue item
The radar on a dashboard shows three items. To see the rest, click Attention in the side menu. When the window is wide enough, the Attention page has a larger Overdue radar in its right-hand column, with up to eight overdue items and a Next 48 hours list of what is due soon.
You can also narrow Attention to overdue items only:
- In the side menu, click the arrow beside Attention. Its tooltip says Show the Attention filters.
- Click Overdue.
Attention now shows only overdue items. Snoozed items are left out of this filter. See Filter Attention Coming soon.
Change or remove the radar
- On the dashboard, click Customize.
- To change the size, click the size button on the tile's top right corner. It shows the current size, and each click moves to the next one.
- To take the radar off the dashboard, click the × on the tile's top right corner.
- Click Done.
Removing the widget does not change any of your items.
Good ways to use it
- Make it the first thing you see. Drag it to the top of Home, beside Pulse or Today's agenda, so late work is never out of sight.
- Aim for an empty radar. At the end of the day, close what is finished, move dates that have changed and archive what no longer matters.
- Start the hardest one with help. Open the oldest item and use Start with Plexii to get a first step drafted.
Common questions
I snoozed an item but it is still on the radar
Snoozing moves an item out of your Attention queues until 9 am tomorrow, but the item is still past its due date, so the radar keeps showing it. To take it off the radar, close it, archive it or give it a later due date.
An item due today is already on the radar
An item is overdue as soon as its due time passes. Due dates set in the Edit item window are due at 5 pm, so a task due today joins the radar at 5 pm.
The number at the top is higher than the rows I can see
The number counts every overdue item, and the dashboard tile lists three. Open Attention to see them all.
