What Plexii remembers about you

Plexii remembers facts, preferences and commitments you tell it and uses them in later chats. See, add and forget what it knows in Ask Brain.

Pro and Team plansUpdated

Plexii does not start every conversation cold. When you tell it something worth keeping, such as how you like reports laid out, who your main client is, or that you owe someone a draft by Friday, it notes it and brings it to later conversations as background. You can see everything it has noted, add things yourself, and forget anything you no longer want it to know.

Plexii's memory also links each conversation to the desk it built, so opening Plexii on that desk picks up where you left off. See Find, reopen and manage conversations.

Before you start

  • Pro and Team plans include Plexii's memory.
  • Memory belongs to the organisation you are working in. What Plexii learns while you work in one organisation is not used in another.
  • Learn from my documents needs a local AI model running on your computer. See Enrich documents with a local AI model.

How Plexii learns

After Plexii answers you, it looks back at what you said in that exchange and keeps anything durable. It sorts each item into one of three kinds:

  • Facts about you, your work, and the people and organisations you work with.
  • Standing preferences: how you like things done.
  • Open commitments: who will do what, for whom, and by when.

Plexii keeps only what you said or agreed to. Its own suggestions are not remembered as yours. Short messages, such as "thanks" or "yes", are skipped, and it looks at a conversation at most about once a minute, so a rapid back-and-forth is not read over and over.

When you change your mind, the newest statement wins. If Plexii knew you prefer Tuesday stand-ups and you later say you prefer Thursday, it stops using the Tuesday one.

How Plexii uses what it remembers

In each conversation, Plexii is given a short list of what it knows about you, with commitments, preferences and facts all represented. It treats this as background only:

  • Anything you say in the conversation takes priority over an older memory.
  • Plexii never sends, creates, schedules or changes anything just because a memory mentions it. It acts only when your message asks it to, and every change still arrives as a card you approve. See Review and apply Plexii's changes.

See what Plexii knows about you

  1. Open the Brain area and choose Ask Brain.
  2. In the left column, under Add files & folders, find What the assistant knows about you.

Items are grouped under Open commitments, Standing preferences and Facts. A commitment with a deadline shows it, for example "(due Friday)". Items Plexii learned for itself, rather than ones you added, are marked · learned.

Before Plexii has learned anything, the section reads Nothing remembered yet. Add something above, or learn from your documents.

Tell Plexii something to remember

  1. In What the assistant knows about you, choose Fact, Preference or Commitment from the list on the left.
  2. Type it in the Remember this… box, for example "Monthly reports go to the board on the first Monday".
  3. Press Enter or click Remember.

The item appears in its group straight away, and Plexii uses it from your next message.

Forget something

  1. Point at the item in What the assistant knows about you.
  2. Click the cross that appears at the right (Forget this).

Plexii stops using it straight away.

Learn from your documents

Plexii can also read your documents for facts, preferences and commitments, using an AI model that runs on your own computer, so your documents are not sent anywhere to do it.

  1. In What the assistant knows about you, click Learn from my documents. It reads Learning… while it works.
  2. When it finishes, a line tells you what happened, for example Learned 4 items from 12 documents.

It reads up to 50 of your documents each time. Running it again is safe: anything it already knows is refreshed rather than added twice.

If no local model is running, nothing is read and the line says No local model is running, so nothing was learned. Start Ollama to enable this. See Enrich documents with a local AI model.

Tips

  • Say it plainly once. "I always want budgets in AUD" is easier for Plexii to keep than a hint spread over several messages.
  • Check the list now and then. Forget anything out of date, so Plexii's background stays accurate.
  • Use Ask Brain for shared knowledge. What Plexii remembers is about you. Facts your whole team should rely on belong in a knowledge entry. See Build your knowledge base in Ask Brain.

Common questions

Plexii didn't remember something I told it. Very short messages are skipped, and Plexii keeps only lasting things, not one-off requests. Add it yourself with Remember.

Plexii is using something out of date. Forget it in What the assistant knows about you, or tell Plexii the new version: the newest statement replaces the old one.

I switched organisation and Plexii seems to have forgotten me. Memory belongs to each organisation. Switch back and it is all there.

Does Learn from my documents use my credits? No. It runs on the local model on your computer.
