Open, move and resize the Plexii panel

Open the Plexii panel, choose Sidebar, Floating or Full screen, resize it, and use its Attention, Calendar, Message and Agents tabs.

All plansUpdated

The Plexii panel is where you talk to Plexii. It opens from the Plexii button at the bottom right of every screen, and you can show it three ways: docked down the right as a sidebar, as a floating card, or full screen. Under its header, a row of tabs also puts your Attention items, today's calendar, your workspace messages and your agents one click away, without leaving what you are doing.

Before you start

  • Every plan includes the Plexii panel.
  • Plexii needs AI to run. When you are signed in it runs on PlexiDesk credits, or you can use your own Anthropic key. See AI credits and where your AI runs Coming soon.
  • The Message tab needs you to be signed in, because it messages other people on PlexiDesk.
  • Attention needs switching on. Until it is on, nothing new reaches Attention, so the Attention tab has little to show. See Turn Attention on or off Coming soon.

Open and close the panel

  1. Click the round Plexii button at the bottom right of the screen.
  2. The panel opens in the display mode you used last. The first time, it opens as a floating card.
  3. To close it, click Minimize to pill (the minus sign) at the top right of the panel.

The panel closes back to the Plexii button. Your conversation is kept, and so is anything you had half typed. PlexiDesk also remembers whether the panel was open, its display mode, its width and the tab you were on, even after you restart.

Choose a display mode

  1. Click Display mode in the panel's header. The button shows the icon of the mode you are in now.
  2. Choose Sidebar, Floating or Full screen. A tick marks the current mode.

What each mode is good for:

  • Sidebar docks the panel down the right edge, between the header and the footer. The rest of the screen moves over to make room, so the panel never covers your work. Use it when you want Plexii beside a desk while you work.
  • Floating shows the panel as a card in the bottom-right corner, over whatever you are doing. Use it for a quick question.
  • Full screen turns Plexii into a full page, with your conversations listed down the left. On most screens the header and side menu stay in view, so you can still move around. Use it for a long conversation.

Switching modes changes only how the panel sits on screen. You stay in the same conversation, and anything you had typed but not sent is still in the box.

Resize the sidebar

In Sidebar mode you can make the panel wider or narrower:

  1. Point at the left edge of the panel. A thin bar appears and the tooltip reads Drag to resize Plexii.
  2. Drag left to widen the panel, or right to narrow it.
  3. Let go. PlexiDesk remembers the width.

To use the keyboard instead, press Tab until the edge is selected (it is called Resize Plexii), then press ← to widen the panel or → to narrow it.

The panel has a minimum and a maximum width, so it always leaves room for both the conversation and your work.

The header

From the right, the header holds:

  • Minimize to pill (the minus sign) closes the panel back to the Plexii button.
  • Display mode chooses Sidebar, Floating or Full screen.
  • What was I doing? replays your last 30 minutes as a short summary in the conversation. It uses your own Anthropic key, even when you are signed in. See Catch up with 'What was I doing?' Coming soon.
  • New chat (the plus sign) starts a fresh conversation. While Plexii is open you can also press ⌘ O on a Mac or Ctrl O on Windows.
  • Your conversations (the speech bubbles) opens the list of your earlier chats. It is not shown in Full screen, where the list is always down the left. See Find, reopen and manage conversations.

The Plexii wordmark at the top left opens the Plexii hub, Plexii as a full page with its own conversation list and starters. See Use the Plexii hub.

The tabs

Under the header is a row of five tabs. Click one to switch. Your conversation, and anything you had half typed, are kept while you look at another tab.

Plexii AI

The first tab shows the Plexii mark rather than a word; its tooltip reads Plexii AI. This is your conversation with Plexii. See Ask Plexii a question Coming soon.

Attention

The Attention tab shows your Attention items, the same list as the Attention widget on your Home dashboard.

  • The small round icons along the top switch between sections: All, To Do, Review, Coming up, Respond, Completed, Stale desks and System. Rest the pointer on an icon to see its name.
  • The section name and its count sit under the icons. Click the name to open the full Attention page.
  • The plus sign at the top right (Capture a new attention item) opens the capture box so you can add something new.

The tab remembers the section you chose, separately from the Attention widget on Home. See Attention: everything that needs you Coming soon and Capture something into Attention Coming soon.

Calendar

The Calendar tab opens on today, as a time grid for the day.

  • Use the arrows either side of Today to step to the previous or next day. Click Today to come back.
  • Click Month at a glance (the grid icon) to see the whole month. The day you were looking at is filled in, and a dot under a date marks a day with something booked. Click the same button, now Back to the day, to return to the day.
  • In the month, click any day to book time on it. The Book time dialog opens for that day, and once you book, the tab shows that day.
  • Click Book to book time on the day you are looking at.
  • Click Open the Calendar page (the arrow in a box) to go to the full Calendar.

See Calendar in Plexii Coming soon and Book time and meetings on the calendar Coming soon.

Message

The Message tab is your workspace chat, with the same conversations, groups and channels as PlexiiChat. Because the panel is narrow, it shows one pane at a time: your list of conversations, or the conversation you open. In a conversation, click All conversations (the back arrow) to return to the list.

If you are signed out, the tab asks you to sign in first. See PlexiiChat: channels and messages Coming soon.

Agents

The Agents tab has two views. Switch between them with the buttons at the top:

  • Autonomous agent: give Plexii a goal and it works through it in steps. See Give Plexii a goal with the Autonomous agent Coming soon.
  • Desk agents: every desk agent in your workspace, with the desk it sits on, whether it is active or paused, and when it last ran. Click one to go to its desk. See See and manage all your agents Coming soon and Desk agent widget.

Tips

  • In focus mode the Plexii button hides. When a widget is open in focus mode, its AI Chat tab is the assistant. Leave focus mode and the button comes back. See Open widgets full screen and side by side.
  • Use Sidebar while you build a desk. The desk moves over to make room, so you can see Plexii's suggestions and the canvas side by side.
  • Use Full screen or the hub for long sessions. Your conversations stay in view down the left, so you can move between them quickly.
  • An empty conversation in Full screen offers starters. One-click chips such as Draft an email and Build a table appear under the box. See Use the Plexii hub.

Common questions

Where is the Plexii button? It hides while the panel is open, in focus mode and on the Plexii hub. Minimise the panel, leave focus mode or leave the hub to get it back.

The panel covers what I am working on. Switch to Sidebar in Display mode. The screen moves over to make room for the panel.

I can't find Your conversations. In Full screen the list is always down the left of the panel, so the button is not in the header. In Sidebar and Floating it is the speech bubbles in the header.

The Attention tab is empty. Check that Attention is switched on. See Turn Attention on or off Coming soon. If it is on, try another section icon: the section you chose last time may simply have nothing in it.

The Message tab asks me to sign in. Messaging other people needs a PlexiDesk account. See Create an account and sign in Coming soon.
