The Office Home page

Office Home is where PlexiiOffice opens: app tiles to start a file, templates, your recent files, today's schedule, quick actions and unread counts.

All plansUpdated

Office Home is the page PlexiiOffice opens on. Its heading reads PlexiOffice Home. From here you can start a new file in any app, pick up a file you were working on, and see what is waiting for you today.

Before you start

  • Plans. Office Home is on every plan.
  • To open it, click the Apps heading in the side menu, or press ⌘ K on a Mac (Ctrl K on Windows) and choose PlexiOffice.

What is on the page

From top to bottom:

  1. The header, with Create at the right.
  2. The library buttons: All, Recent, Starred, Shared with me, Templates and Trash.
  3. The app tiles, one for each app.
  4. Start with a template.
  5. Recent, your latest files.
  6. The right-hand column of cards, when the window is wide enough to show it.
  7. AI Assistant, a bar across the bottom.

Create

Create at the top right makes a new, blank document called "Untitled document" and opens it in PlexiDocs. To start another kind of file, use an app tile or a template. See Create a document, sheet, deck, diagram, design or artwork.

The library buttons

These switch the main part of the page between views of your files. All is Office Home itself. The others are described in Find, star and pin your Office files, Templates and starting points and Delete and restore Office files.

The heading follows the button you choose, for example PlexiOffice Recent. The app tiles and templates stay at the top of every view.

The app tiles

There is a tile for PlexiDocs, PlexiSheets, PlexiSlides, PlexiDiagrams, PlexiDesign and PlexiDraw. Clicking one makes a new, blank file in that app and opens it.

After them come tiles that open an app instead of making a file: PlexiMeet to start a meeting, then Browser, Files and Vault. A tile only appears when that app is available to you.

Start with a template

A row of starting points, one per app, with buttons to narrow the row: All, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Diagrams, Designs and Artwork. Click a template to make a new file from it. See Templates and starting points.

Recent

Your twelve most recently edited files, newest first. Each row shows the file's Name, its Type and, under Last opened, how long ago it last changed.

If you have no files yet, the list says Nothing here yet.

The right-hand column

These cards appear when the window is wide enough. The first three are on Office Home only.

Card What it shows
Your day in PlexiOffice Today's time blocks, up to six, with their start times. With nothing booked it says Nothing scheduled today.
Quick actions Compose email, New document, New spreadsheet, New presentation and Start a meeting. Compose email and Start a meeting appear when Mail and Meet are available to you.
Unread How many unread items you have in Inbox, Chat messages and Mail. Click a row to open that app. When everything is read it says You are all caught up.
Pinned Up to five of your starred files, one click from opening. Until you star something it says Star files to pin them here.
Storage How many files are in this workspace, and that they are stored on this device.
What's new The three latest PlexiDesk releases.

The card at the bottom, Get more with PlexiOffice Pro, opens a window for upgrading to the Pro plan. See What each plan includes.

AI Assistant

The bar across the bottom of the page opens Plexii, the assistant, so you can ask about your documents, data or presentations. Click Ask AI. See Meet Plexii, your assistant.

Make room

The PlexiiOffice side menu can be minimised to give the page the full width of the window. A small PlexiOffice button then appears at the top left; click it to bring the menu back.

Common questions

Office Home looks different from my Home dashboard. Are they connected? No. Office Home is PlexiiOffice's start page for files. Your Home dashboard is a separate page you arrange with widgets. See The Home dashboard.

Why is the right-hand column missing? It is shown only when the window is wide enough. Make the window wider, or minimise the side menu.

A file I opened today is not at the top of Recent. Recent is ordered by when each file last changed, so a file you only read keeps its place.
