Team status widget

On People Home, see how many people are in your organisation, who is around right now, search the people directory and open the organisation map.

Team status is the main widget on People Home, the dashboard of the People area. It shows how many people are in your organisation and who is online, away or offline, with a searchable people directory and a way into the organisation map. People Home starts with it, so you do not need to add it.

Before you start

  • Sign in, and have a team. Team status shows the people in an organisation, so you need to be signed in and part of an organisation with other people in it. Until then, it tells you what to set up next, as described under Common questions below.
  • Plans. Every plan has People Home. Seeing who is online right now (live presence) is part of the Team plan, and so are the Organisation map and the buttons that take you to the Organisation page. See What each plan includes Coming soon.
  • Where it goes. Team status is offered only on People Home. Home, Office Home and Brain Home do not offer it.

Open People Home

  1. Switch to the People area. See Desk, Office, People and Brain: the four areas.
  2. Click People Home in the People menu.

The Directory page in the People menu shows the same information on a full page.

What the widget shows

The top of the widget

A greeting, and your organisation's name. If you belong to more than one organisation, a menu at the top right switches between them. On the Team plan, the Organisation map button beside it opens the organisation map.

The four counts

Count Who it includes
Total people Everyone in the organisation, including you.
Online People who are online, including anyone in a focus session.
Away or busy People who are away or busy.
Offline People who are offline.

People directory

Everyone in the organisation, with the people who are around first: online, then in focus, busy, away and offline, and by name within each. Each row shows:

  • the person's photo or initials, with a coloured dot for their status;
  • their name, with (you) beside your own;
  • their job title and department, or their role, such as Guest, when no title is set;
  • a status label: Online, In focus, Busy, Away or Offline.

To find someone, type in Search people by name, role or team. It matches names, handles, job titles and departments. If nobody matches, you see No one matches that search.

Around right now

Up to eight people who are online or in a focus session, each with their photo or initials. Someone in a focus session shows In a focus session beside their picture. When nobody is around, it says No one is online right now.

Organisation map

On the Team plan, a card describes the organisation map: everyone by office and reporting line, with their local day and who is reachable now. Click Open the organisation map to go there. See People Map Coming soon.

Move, remove or put it back

Team status has one size, Large. The widget scrolls inside its tile, so a large team fits.

  1. On People Home, click Customize at the top right.
  2. Drag Team status to where you want it. To take it off People Home, click the × on its top right corner.
  3. Click Done.

To add it back:

  1. On People Home, click Customize, then Add widget.
  2. Click Live, or type "team" in Search widgets.
  3. Click Team status, then Add widget.
  4. Drag it into place and click Done.

You can also click Reset layout, which appears in Customize once you have changed People Home. It puts back the starting layout: Team status, Standup, Today's agenda and Recent activity. See Customize your dashboard.

Good ways to use it

  • Check before you reach out. Glance at the status labels before you message or call someone, so you can leave people in focus alone.
  • Find the right person. Search the directory by department or job title when you need someone from another team.
  • Make People Home your team page. Keep Team status beside the Standup and Recent activity widgets for a quick picture of the day.

Common questions

It says "Sign in to see your team"

You are not signed in. Sign in to your PlexiDesk account and the widget fills in. See Sign in to PlexiDesk Coming soon.

It says "Create your organisation first"

You only have your personal workspace, and Team status shows the people in an organisation. Create an organisation and invite your team. On the Team plan, Open Organisations takes you to the Organisation page. See Set up and manage your organisation Coming soon.

It says "No teammates yet"

Your organisation has no members to show yet. Invite people and give them profiles, so they appear in the directory and on the map. On the Team plan, Invite people to your workspace takes you to the Organisation page. See Share and invite people.

Everyone shows as Offline

Seeing live status is part of the Team plan. A person also shows as Offline while they do not have PlexiDesk open, or when they have chosen to appear offline. See See who is around Coming soon.
