Standup widget

Your daily standup on Home: what you finished since last time, what to pick up next, suggestions worth a look, and ways to save it to a desk or document.

All plansUpdated

The Standup widget gives you a short catch-up on your day: what you finished since you last looked, and what is worth picking up next. It sits first on your Home dashboard, under the title Your standup. Read it when you start work, or when you come back after time away and want to get your bearings.

Where you find it

  • Home has the Standup widget first on the board when you start out, and People Home includes it too. See The Home dashboard.
  • It always uses the large tile, so it has room for the whole catch-up.
  • If you removed it, you can add it back at any time. See "Add it to a dashboard" below.

Before you start

  • Sign in. Your standup is kept with your account. If you are not signed in, the tile stays empty or says Sign in to see your daily standup. See Create an account and sign in Coming soon.
  • Plexii AI writes the catch-up. It runs on your AI credits while you are signed in, or on your own Anthropic key. Without AI you still get a plain summary built from the same facts. See AI credits and where your AI runs Coming soon and Add your own API keys.
  • The widget is on every plan.

What the standup shows

From top to bottom:

  1. The catch-up. A short paragraph that first says what you completed since last time, then what to pick up next. With Plexii AI it reads as a few plain sentences. It is built from what is really in your workspace: what you marked done, the desks and tasks still open or in progress, your upcoming calendar and your recent documents.
  2. Worth a look. Suggestions about things that need you soon, such as an overdue desk or a meeting about to start. This part shows only when there is something to suggest. See "Worth a look" below.
  3. Completed since last time. Up to eight things you finished, each with a green tick. Click one to open it.
  4. Next up. Up to five desks and tasks that are open or in progress, led by the ones you marked most important. Click a chip to open it.

In a new, empty workspace the standup simply says you are all caught up.

While it is being put together you see Putting your standup together… for a moment.

How it stays up to date

  • It is built once a day. The first time you open the dashboard each day, the standup looks back to where your previous standup left off. For the rest of the day you see that same standup, so it does not change every time you come back to Home.
  • Refresh builds it again now. Click the circular arrow at the top right of the widget (Refresh the standup). The new standup looks back from the previous one, so Completed since last time then lists only what you finished since it was last built.
  • It follows you. Today's standup is kept with your account, so you see the same standup on each computer you sign in on that day.

The standup counts work you marked done, for example a desk or a task you set to Done. See Track a desk's status and time.

You or your team

When you are working in an organisation, two buttons appear beside the title: You and Team.

  • You shows what you completed and what is next for you. This is where the standup starts.
  • Team shows what everyone in the organisation completed, and the catch-up talks about the team.

Switching between them only changes what you are looking at. Your next daily standup still starts from the same point. In your personal space the buttons do not appear. See Organisation settings and switching workspaces Coming soon.

Worth a look

Worth a look lists suggestions that PlexiDesk finds by checking your calendar, your desks and your mail. They are not written by AI: each one points at a real meeting, desk or message. You may see:

  • A meeting or time block starting soon. Anything on your calendar that starts within the next hour, or started less than 15 minutes ago. Open takes you to the Calendar.
  • A desk or task that needs you. One that is overdue, one due in the next two days, or one that has been in progress for more than five days without being finished. Open takes you to it.
  • Mail to reply to. Unread email from the last three days, shown as Reply to and the sender, with the subject underneath. Open takes you to Mail. These appear once you have connected a mail account. See Connect your email account Coming soon.

You see up to six suggestions from each of the three sources. The list checks again every two minutes, so suggestions come and go as things change.

  • Click Open to go to the meeting, desk or message.
  • Click × (Dismiss) to hide a suggestion. It stays hidden until you next start PlexiDesk.

Save or share your standup

You can keep a standup where you work, or share it by putting it on a desk other people can see.

  1. Click Save at the top right of the widget (Save or send this standup).
  2. Choose where it goes:
    • Add to a desk…: choose a desk from the list, then click Add. The standup lands on that desk as a Markdown widget.
    • New room + desk: type a room name (it starts as Standups) and a desk name (it starts as Standup and today's date), then click Create. PlexiDesk makes the room, a desk inside it, and a Markdown widget on the desk holding the standup.
    • Save to Drive: saves the standup as a new document alongside your other documents.
    • Save to a Drive folder…: choose a folder, or Drive (root), then click Save. The new document is filed in that folder.
  3. A message confirms where it went. Click Open to go there, or Done to close the menu.

The saved copy is titled Standup (or Team standup) with the date. It holds the catch-up, the list of what was completed, and a line of counts, such as how many things were completed, created and updated.

To share it with colleagues, save it to a desk and share that desk. See Share a desk with specific people. To find a saved document again, see The Documents page Coming soon and Files: your folders and files Coming soon.

Add it to a dashboard

  1. Open the dashboard you want: Home in the side menu, or People Home, Office Home or Brain Home in those areas' menus. See Desk, Office, People and Brain: the four areas.
  2. Click Customize at the top right of the dashboard.
  3. Click Add widget.
  4. Click Live, or type "standup" in Search widgets.
  5. Click Standup. A live preview shows your own standup at its one size, Large.
  6. Click Add widget. The widget appears at the end of the board, briefly highlighted.
  7. Drag it to where you want it, then click Done.

If the Standup card shows a tick and Already on your home, it is already on this dashboard. Each dashboard can have one Standup widget.

Move or remove it

  1. Click Customize.
  2. To move the widget, press and drag it to a new spot. The other widgets make room.
  3. To remove it, click the × at its top right corner (Remove Standup).
  4. Click Done, or press Esc.

Your arrangement is saved on this computer, separately for each dashboard. Reset layout, shown in Customize once you have changed something, puts back the dashboard's starting widgets. For everything else you can do in Customize, see Customize your Home dashboard. To let Plexii arrange a dashboard for you, see Set up a dashboard with Plexii.

Good ways to use it

  • Start the day. Read the catch-up, then click the first chip under Next up to open that desk and begin.
  • Give it something to count. Set desks and tasks to Done as you finish them, and give desks an importance, so the standup can tell what you finished and what matters most.
  • Before a team meeting. In an organisation, switch to Team to see what everyone completed.
  • Keep a log. Save each day's standup to the same desk, as in the tip above.

Common questions

My standup is empty. Make sure you are signed in. The standup needs your account to know where you left off.

I finished something but it is not listed. The standup counts what you marked done, such as a desk or task set to Done. If you finished it after the standup was built today, click refresh.

The Completed list got shorter after I refreshed. Each standup looks back to the one before it. After a refresh, it lists only what you completed since the previous build.

It says Showing a plain summary. Plexii AI was not available. Check how AI is set up on this computer: AI credits while you are signed in, or your own Anthropic key. See Add your own API keys. If the line says the written standup could not be generated just now, refresh again in a few minutes.

I do not see the You and Team buttons. They appear only while you are working in an organisation. Switch with the workspace switcher at the top of the side menu.

Can I have the standup on more than one dashboard? Yes. Home, Office Home, People Home and Brain Home can each have one Standup widget.
