PlexiiSlides overview
PlexiiSlides is the presentation editor in Office. Build a deck from layouts and starter slides, add text, pictures, charts and tables, then present it.
PlexiiSlides is the presentation editor in PlexiiOffice. A deck is a set of 16:9 slides. You lay each slide out with text boxes, shapes, lines, pictures, tables and charts, give the deck a theme, write speaker notes, and present it from the app. You can also bring a PowerPoint file in, send the deck out as .pptx or PDF, and have AI draft or redesign slides.
Every deck is kept in Office. You can also put a deck on a desk with the Slides widget, which shows the same deck with the same editor. See Slides widget.
Before you start
- PlexiiSlides is on every plan.
- The AI features need AI to be set up: PlexiDesk credits while you are signed in, or your own Anthropic key. See AI credits and where your AI runs.
Start a deck
- Click the Apps heading in the side menu. Office Home opens.
- Click the PlexiSlides tile. A new deck called "Untitled deck" opens.
A new deck starts with one slide, a title slide in the Plexii theme. Click the deck's name at the top of the editor to rename it.
You can also start from Blank presentation under Start with a template on Office Home, or, inside a deck, choose File > New presentation. To open a deck you already have, click it under Recent on Office Home. See Create a document, sheet, deck, diagram, design or artwork and The Office Home page.
What you see
The editor fills the space beside the side menu. From top to bottom and left to right:
- The header: the arrow back to Office, the deck's name, Share, and whether your changes are saved. See The editor header, saving and the File menu.
- The menu bar: File, Edit, View, Insert, Slide, Format and Help.
- The toolbar: Undo and Redo, Text, Image and Shape, then Templates and Layout. On the right are the folder button for importing and exporting, AI and Present.
- The slide rail on the left: a numbered thumbnail of every slide, with + at the bottom to add one.
- The slide you are working on, in the middle, with a Speaker notes box under it.
- The inspector: settings for the element you have selected. With nothing selected, it shows the slide's Slide transition and Background and the deck's Theme.
- The side panel on the right: Ask your workspace, the AI Assistant, and the Slide and Layout tabs.
Build your slides
This is a short tour. Each part links to the full guide.
Add and arrange slides
Click a thumbnail in the rail to work on that slide. Add a slide with + at the bottom of the rail or Templates in the toolbar, which offer starter slides such as Cover, Agenda, Big number and Quote, drawn in your theme. Slide > New slide adds a blank slide after the one you are on. Rest the pointer on a thumbnail to move it up or down or delete it.
See Add, reorder and lay out slides.
Layouts and themes
Layout in the toolbar sets the current slide out as Title, Title + content, Two content, Section, Image + caption or Blank. A theme sets the background, fonts and colours of the whole deck: Plexii, Midnight, Editorial, Bold or Mono.
Text, shapes, pictures, tables and charts
Use Text, Image and Shape in the toolbar, or the Insert menu, which also has Line, Chart, Table and Widget from a desk. Double-click a text box to type in it.
See Text, shapes, images and tables on slides and Charts linked to a spreadsheet.
Format and arrange
Click an element to select it. The inspector sets its position and size, rotation and opacity, colours and text style, and more. Select several elements to line them up, space them evenly or group them.
See Format elements with the inspector and Align, distribute and group.
Transitions and animations
Give a slide a transition, such as Fade or Zoom, and give elements an entrance animation, such as Fade in or Slide up. They play when you present.
See Animations and transitions.
Present
Click Present in the toolbar, or choose View > Present. The deck fills the PlexiDesk window from the slide you are on, with a presenter panel showing a timer, the next slide and your notes. Press the right arrow or Space to go forward and Esc to stop.
See Speaker notes and presenting.
AI in PlexiiSlides
- AI in the toolbar opens the AI slides panel, which builds a new deck from a description, adds slides to the end of this one, or redesigns the slide you are on. You see a preview before anything changes.
- The AI Assistant in the side panel improves, rewrites or shortens the slide's text, suggests a theme, and drafts speaker notes.
See AI in PlexiiSlides.
Import and export
- File > Import (.pptx) replaces this deck's slides with the slides from a PowerPoint file.
- File > Download saves the deck as PowerPoint (.pptx) or PDF document (.pdf).
The folder button in the toolbar has the same choices. See Import and export PowerPoint and PDF.
Check a deck before you share it
View > Check accessibility looks for pictures without alt text and slides with no text. It lists anything it finds, or says No accessibility issues found. See Check a file for accessibility.

Common questions
Where are my decks? In Office. Look under Recent on Office Home, or see Find, star and pin your Office files.
Can I put a deck on a desk? Yes, with the Slides widget. It shows the same deck, so changes in either place are saved to the one deck. See Slides widget.
What size are the slides? Every slide is 16:9 widescreen.
I made a change I did not want. Click Undo in the toolbar, or press ⌘ Z on a Mac or Ctrl Z on Windows.
